SYRACUSE, N.Y. — CBD Companies is pleased to announce Harry P. Harkaway has joined as Director of Real Estate Services. Mr. Harkaway is responsible for overseeing client real estate needs. CBD Companies provides development, construction, leasing, and asset and property management services.
Harkaway has over 30 years of commercial real estate experience. He began his career with JMB Realty of Chicago, IL where he worked in leasing and property management in Minneapolis, M.N. and Syracuse, NY. Later, he acted as area manager in Washington, D.C., directing transactions for over one million square feet for seven properties. In 1993, Harry became a partner with the Bell Group of Syracuse, NY, where he served as a tenant representative assisting clients in lease negotiations, site selection, and commercial sales and acquisitions. From 2001 – 2003, he worked at Kidder, Mathews & Segner, the Northwest’s largest commercial real estate firm. In 2004, he returned to Central New York and joined the Pioneer Companies serving as Senior Vice President of Operations and Leasing, overseeing a 4.2 million square foot portfolio consisting of 38 office and industrial buildings.
Harry has his Masters of Business Administration and received his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Harkaway is licensed in the State of New York and has held real estate licenses in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Washington. He is a graduate of Leadership Greater Syracuse. He has served in various roles at the YMCA and participates as a children’s sports coach.
